Bear Lake

by Janelle Call on Aug.23, 2010

Last month we went to Bear Lake for the annual Call Family Reunion. It was a lot of fun this year because Avery was old enough to go and play with Skyler’s girl cousins.

One of the days we were there we went to the beach and played. Avery love playing with Brooke.

Here are some fun pictures of Avery playing in the sand at the beach.

Avery and daddy walking in the water.

Daddy and Kaden enjoying the sun.

Skyler’s grandpa brought his 4-wheelers for people to ride on. Avery really wanted Skyler to take her for a ride.

She was afraid that they were going to fall in the lake, even though they were no where near the lake, so Skyler stopped and turned her around so that she could hold on to him.

By the time they got done Avery was smiling and had a good time. She told me that she kept saying, “ahhh!”

More cute pictures of Avery playing in the sand.

My beautiful little girl.

Me and Kaden relaxing in the sun.

We had a great time at Bear Lake and look forward to the reunion next year!

AF Steel Days

by Janelle Call on Aug.10, 2010

On July 10th we went to the American Fork Steel Days parade and carnival. (I am way behind on my posts).

This is all of us waiting for the parade to start. The parade was really long. Skyler and Kaden got really hot so about half way through they went to the car to cool off. Avery had a blast running out into the road with Nicole to get the candy that was thrown.

Later that day Skyler and I took Avery to the carnival; Kaden stayed with Grandma Call. We purchased 10 tickets for Avery and then were given about 10 more from other people there who were leaving and had a couple extras. The first ride that Avery went on was the “green roller coaster”. I got her strapped in and told her to hold onto the bar in front of her. The ride started and she got really scared. Every time she came around she would look at me and say, “Mom I want to get off”. I felt so bad because there was nothing I could do to help her.

The next ride that Avery went on was the cars. She really like this one. She sat next to this cute little boy who talked to her and made sure that she was okay.

She loved this one. I think she really enjoyed being able to hold the steering wheel and pretend she was actually driving the car.

Uncle Blaze was at the carnival. He had purchased an all day pass so he could go on as many rides as he wanted. This worked out really well for us because he could go on the bigger rides with Avery so we didn’t have to purchase more tickets for Skyler and I to go with her.

The train was another one of Avery’s favorite rides. Blaze looks like he is having so much fun!

This ride was a fun one. I remember this ride being there when I was a kid. Avery really enjoyed this one, she was the only child on the ride.

This one was fun for Avery because she got to control whether she was up in the air or down by the ground.

Avery enjoyed the yellow slide so much that she wanted to go on it a second time. This time she wanted me to go with her. It was fun!

Look how happy she is!

For the last ride of the day she chose to ride on the cars again.

We had a great time at the carnival!

Alpine Slide

by Janelle Call on Aug.04, 2010

I just found this post and realized that I forgot to finish it. On our way home from Homestead we stopped in Park City at The Alpine Slide. Skyler had been talking with Avery about it a few weeks earlier and she decided that she wanted to earn a ride on it for going potty. She filled up 2 sticker charts and was able to earn it. Here she is standing with her daddy in line for the slide.

I stayed at the bottom with Kaden while Skyler too Avery on the slide.

When they got up to the top Skyler called me to let me know that they would be coming down soon.

When they got done I asked Avery how it was and she said that daddy went too fast. She said that she kept telling him to slow down and that she wanted her mommy!

She had a good time with her daddy and she keeps telling me that when Kaden gets older that he will go on it with dad and she will go with me. She is so cute!

Build-A-Bear

by Janelle Call on Aug.04, 2010

Several months ago Grandma Call made a deal with Avery that if she would go potty for 20 days (not consecutive) with no accidents she would take her to Build-A-Bear. Aunt Lacey took Avery to the computer and let her look at all of the bears on their website and pick her very favorite one. Lacey used a picture of the bear and made Avery a chart to mark her progress on. Well a few weeks ago Avery finally met that goal. We are so proud of her!

Grandma Call loaded Avery in the car and took her to the mall. I met them there so I could be a part of the fun too.

Avery already knew which bear she wanted so that part was really easy. She pulled the bear out of the bin and hugged it so tight.

She took it over to one of the employees to stuff it. She pushed the black peddle with her foot to start the machine.

The employee handed Avery a small red heart so that she could give it her love before putting it inside the bear. She rubbed it between her hands and blew on it to make it warm and then gave it a kiss.

She put the heart into the bear.

When the bear was all stuffed she took it over to give it a shower (an air shower).

Aunt Lacey put some of the sunglasses made for the bears on Kaden. Doesn’t he look cute?!?

Choosing which bear she wanted was easy. Choosing the outfit for the bear, however, was a lot more difficult. Avery had tried several outfits on the bear before finally choosing the one she wanted. When the bear was all dressed it was time to pick some accessories for it. Avery chose a blow dryer (it really works), a brush, and a mirror.

When her bear was all dressed and accessorized we went over to the computers and put in her bears information and made it a birth certificate. We then went to the counter to pay for the bear. The employee at the counter gave Avery two purple bows for her new bear’s ears. Avery had a great time. Thanks Grandma Call for taking Avery to build her bear. She loves it so much and takes it everywhere with us!

Fourth of July Fun

by Janelle Call on Jul.13, 2010

(Warning: Lots of pictures!)

Like most of you probably did, we celebrated 4th of July three time this year.

We went to see the firework show at Thanksgiving Point on Saturday. Kaden loved watching them but Avery was tired and complained that they hurt her eyes. After the show was over we walked to our car and got it at 10:25. Because of all the traffic it took an entire hour to get home; a drive that normally takes about ten minutes.

On Sunday we celebrated with the Call family. Grandma Call invited us over to her house for dinner and to light/watch some fireworks. She asked us to all wear red, white, and blue so that we could take some family pictures together. For dinner we enjoyed some yummy dutch oven chicken and potatoes. We tried to make homemade ice cream but it took about 3 hours to make and even then was really runny. We still ate it though. After dinner we went to the amphitheater near the LDS Mount Timpanogos Temple to take pictures. Here are some of the pictures we took:

Me and my kiddos.

Grandma Call and Kaden.

Grandma Call, Uncle Landon, and Uncle Blaze.

My cute family.

More of my family.

The whole Call clan.

We woke up bright and early Monday morning to head over to Provo and watch the hot air balloons launch. It was really neat to see all the balloons up in the air.

Avery loved watching them. Her favorite balloon was the pink pig from Bank of American Fork.

It was a little chilly in the morning so I tried to keep Kaden’s blanket on him, but he did not want it on. He kept kicking it off. After the balloon launch and some breakfast at McDonald’s we went to the Provo Parade. It was really hot. Avery loved to watch the royalty floats and the “princesses” on them.

Later that evening we went over to Grandma Christiansen’s house for dinner and fireworks. My mom made yummy hamburgers and homemade ice cream. After dinner we went outside and played some games until it was dark. My mom didn’t want to play with us. She just wanted to play with Kaden.

Skyler and Kaden waiting for the fireworks to start:

My dad is really cute with Avery. Here he is helping her light sparklers:

There were some ants on the sidewalk near where Avery was playing with the sparklers. Aunt Nicole taught her to show the ants her sparklers.

Kaden enjoyed watching the fireworks.

Avery loves Aunt Nicole. This is them watching the fireworks:

Thanks everyone for making our 4th of July so great!

Homestead

by Janelle Call on Jul.08, 2010

Every year my grandparents take my whole family to Homestead Resort in Midway. Avery has been so excited to go. When she wok up Thursday morning, the first thing she said was, “Mom, today we are going to Homestead!”

At Homestead my grandparents rent out two condos right across the street from the park. Avery loved playing in the sand with my cousin, Jessica.

My aunt, Heidi, always plans fun crafts and service projects for us to do while we are there. She brought bandannas and we got to decorate them. Avery didn’t want to decorate hers so I did it for her.

My bandanna.

My dad holding Kaden.

My dad loved playing with Avery and Kaden.

Skyler enjoyed relaxing outside with Kaden.

Kaden is always trying to be “so big”.

We took Avery on a walk to see the crater. She enjoyed riding on Skyler’s shoulders.

We had a ton of fun swimming, playing, and visiting with family at Homestead.

Highland Fountain

by Janelle Call on Jul.07, 2010

Last week my friend, Sharresa, and her kids came over to visit. We planned to go swimming at the pool across the street from my house, but by the time we got there it was closed. We decided to go to Roxberry and get smoothies and then to the Highland fountain behind the Library instead.

Avery had a blast playing in the water.

She loved playing with Layceelyn. I wish that they lived closer so that the tow of them could play together more, they have so much fun together.

Cute girl!
