Mother’s Day

by on May.18, 2011

For Mother’s Day this year I wanted to make my kids outfits. I was at Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago and found this cute flower fabric and thought it would make a perfect dress for Avery and sitting right next to it was fabric that had the same colors but instead of flowers they were stripes which I thought would make a perfect tie for Kaden. As you can see, they were perfect!

We took some pictures of the kids before church to put in a picture tote bag for our moms for Mother’s Day.

I love this face!

She is just so sweet!

My two adorable children.

My handsome boy.

Me with my cute kids.

Daddy with the kids.

Mother’s Day was filled with lots of love from my children. I am so grateful that I have been entrusted to care for these precious spirits. I love them both more than words can describe.

Bubbles

by on May.16, 2011

We finally had a warm day to go outside and play with the bubbles that Kaden got for Easter. Avery was so excited!

Dad had fun with the bubbles too!

Kaden was not sure what to do with them.

For some reason Kaden loves to stand this way. He does it all the time.

Kaden is learning how to stand up on his own. He can do it, but as soon as he realizes what he is doing he will slowly sit himself back down. We are trying to get him to walk, but he is just not interested yet. Hopefully soon.

Hugs for daddy!

More hugs for daddy!

The cool thing about the bubble container that Kaden got for Easter is that it is a “no spill” container. So Kaden can tip it over and it is not going to spill all over.

Avery blowing a big bubble.

As I mentioned in a previous post, Kaden LOVES the motorcycle! He had a great time sitting on it with dad and, of course, making his motorcycle noise.

We had so much fun outside. I hope the weather will stay warm.

Skyler’s Birthday

by on May.15, 2011

For Skyler’s birthday this year I decided to throw him a surprise party. The kids and I bought him “Phase 10 Twist”. We thought it would be fun to have everyone over for cookies, ice cream, and games. The day before Skyler’s birthday it was Jake’s, Nicole’s Fiance, birthday so Nicole had made a cake for him and they didn’t get a chance to eat it so she brought it over to share with everyone.

The two birthday boys.

I hate lighting candles so Jake did it for me.

We had a great time. Thanks everyone for coming over to celebrate Skyler’s birthday!

Kaden’s First Haircut

by on May.14, 2011

Kaden got his first haircut at 13 months old, unlike Avery who didn’t have her first haircut until she was 18 months old and even then she didn’t really need it. Kaden was starting to look really scraggly so we decided it was time.

He did not like having his hair cut at all!

He screamed and thrashed around almost the entire time. I am surprised that Rebecca didn’t cut herself.

Even with all of the screaming and thrashing, Rebecca was able to do an amazing job on his hair.

Doesn’t he look so handsome?!?

Thanks Rebecca, you are amazing!

Easter

by on May.13, 2011

We had a wonderful Easter this year. I bought Avery this beautiful dress at Costco for really cheap a few months ago and have been so excited to have her wear it. I decided that Kaden needed a tie to match Avery. My sister-in-law has a pattern to make ties so she gave that to me and I made him a tie. Isn’t it cute?!?

Easter morning was crazy. Skyler had meetings at 7am and then he and I both had to meet with the bishop at 8:30 am and then church at 9 am so we didn’t have a chance to give the kids their Easter baskets before church. Luckily we talked the Easter bunny into coming while we were at church. Avery got a “Tangled” barbie doll and the “Tangled” Bluray. Kaden got a swim suit and some bubbles.

Kaden loved his bubbles!

Avery had lots of fun finding the eggs and putting them in her basket.

Later that afternoon we went to Skyler’s Grandma and Grandpa Stephenson’s house for dinner and an easter egg hunt.

Avery is trying to find all of her eggs. Skyler’s grandparents give each child a certain color of egg and they hide them in locations that are good for their age level. Once they have found all of their color they are done and they can go see what is inside their eggs. This year Uncle Landon and his friend, Ruben, hid the eggs. They hid them a lot harder than grandma and grandpa usually do.

Kaden had a great time finding his eggs. Once he had one in each hand he was done! I had to keep taking one out of his hand and putting it in the bag every time I found a new one for him so that he would pick the new one up.

My sweet little boy!

We had a great day!

Kaden’s Room

by on May.12, 2011

Fo Kaden’s Birthday Grandma Call gave him some motorcycle decorations to put in his room. Skyler and I were finally able to get them hung up. They look really good.

Kaden loves them! He has just recently discovered Skyler’s motorcycle and he makes a motorcycle sound everytime he sees a morotcycle. It is really cute!

Thanks Grandma Call for the decorations!
