Nicole and Jake

On New Years Eve my cute little sister got engaged! We are so happy for them. We love her fiance, Jake, and are so excited to have him be part of our family. Avery adores him and plays with him whenever he is around.

Skyler and I set up a blog for them to post about their engagement and their new life together. Check it out at JorgensenFam.com.

Congratulations Nicole and Jake! We are so happy for you!

Christmas (A Little Late)

by on Jan.27, 2011

Christmas Eve this year was spent with the Call family. We started out the afternoon over there making candy and a gingerbread house. Grandma Call buys a gingerbread house kit every year for Avery to help put together. It is so much fun!

Lacey and I ended up putting it together while Avery watched and ate the frosting!

She had so much fun!

Our finished product. This one turned out a whole lot better that the one we built last year. Last year we ended up having to hot glue it together to get it to stay; good times!

When we were finished putting the gingerbread house together we headed over to my Grandma and Grandpa Hutchings house because they had talked to Santa and asked him to come and visit the kids before delivering toys.

Santa had Avery and Sadie help him make something. They sprinkled a few different items into his tin can and then he turned on some music and we all helped him shake it up. When he opened it up there were two red flowers for the girls to wear in their hair. (I didn’t get any pictures of them.)

After we did that Santa called each of the kids over to sit on his lap and he gave them a special treat.

Kaden loved sitting on Santa’s lap. He was not nervous at all. He just sat there and looked up at his beard. Kaden is such a cute little boy!

Santa had to leave so that he could deliver toys to all of the good girls and boys. After he left we headed back over to Grandma Call’s house to have dinner and open presents.

We had fondue for dinner, a Christmas Eve tradition. And then opened all of our presents, another Call family tradition. Avery got a horse on stick from Lacey and Jake, she was thrilled, this was her favorite gift. Kaden loved all of the wrapping paper and boxes. Skyler and I got season tickets to Hale Center Theater in Orem, this is my favorite gift that we get every year! We all got pajamas and slippers. Avery and Kaden’s pajamas matched. Aren’t they adorable?!?

We went home, put out cookies and milk for Santa, and then went to bed. Skyler and I were able to snap a picture of the toys that Santa brought before the kids got up!

Here we are coming down the stairs to see what Santa brought.

Avery got an activity box full of crayons, markers, colored pencils, and paper. She also got a couple of books, barbies, and an alphabet cd just like the one they use in her preschool class. Kaden got a ball popper toy and Avery gave him her old animal train, because she is too big for it now. Skyler got some sunglasses and I got a case for my phone.

I realized as I was getting pictures ready for this post that we failed to get any pictures of Kaden with his toys. He loved them and played with them lots.

My family came over for breakfast after we opened our gifts. After breakfast we made the rounds to visit everyone and exchange gifts. We had a great Christmas. Thanks everyone for making it so great!
