Avery’s First Day of Preschool
by Janelle Call on Sep.13, 2010
About a month ago my mother-in-law e-mailed me about putting Avery in preschool this year. She had stopped by Avondale Academy to check it out and thought that it would be a great place for Avery to go. She offered to pay half of Avery’s tuition in lew of babysitting the kids on a regular basis. Skyler and I talked about it and decided that it would be a great opportunity for Avery to go to school.
We went to back to school night and met her teacher. She gave us a fun tote bag for Avery to decorate any way she wanted to, as long as it had her name on it somewhere. We took the bag over to my sister, Nicole, to help us decorate it. Nicole is very creative and a very good artist. Avery told her what to draw and Nicole drew it and then Avery colored it. I think it turned out really cute. This is the front.
This is the back. Avery wanted to have a picture of her family on it.
Avery started preschool on August 23rd. She was super excited. I was happy because I didn’t start working until August 25th so I got to take her on her first day. One great thing about this school is that the teacher will come out and get her out of the car when I take her and she will bring her out to the car when I pick her up. It makes it a lot easier with Kaden so I don’t have to get out of the car.
We, of course, had to take pictures of her on her first day of school. This is her being silly with her bag around her neck.
You can just see the excitement in her face!
Avery being cute!
When preschool was over Kaden and I went to pick Avery up. I was anxious to see how her first day went. She had a blast and came home singing lots of fun songs and with pictures she had colored. My favorite thing was her name tag. Her teacher wrote her name with a highlighter and then she helped Avery trace it with her pencil. I think for her first time writing her name she did a really good job!
I am so glad that we were able to get Avery into this preschool. She is learning so much and is having a great time. Thanks Grandma Call for helping us out!
