Avery’s First Day of Preschool

by on Sep.13, 2010

About a month ago my mother-in-law e-mailed me about putting Avery in preschool this year. She had stopped by Avondale Academy to check it out and thought that it would be a great place for Avery to go. She offered to pay half of Avery’s tuition in lew of babysitting the kids on a regular basis. Skyler and I talked about it and decided that it would be a great opportunity for Avery to go to school.

We went to back to school night and met her teacher. She gave us a fun tote bag for Avery to decorate any way she wanted to, as long as it had her name on it somewhere. We took the bag over to my sister, Nicole, to help us decorate it. Nicole is very creative and a very good artist. Avery told her what to draw and Nicole drew it and then Avery colored it. I think it turned out really cute. This is the front.

This is the back. Avery wanted to have a picture of her family on it.

Avery started preschool on August 23rd. She was super excited. I was happy because I didn’t start working until August 25th so I got to take her on her first day. One great thing about this school is that the teacher will come out and get her out of the car when I take her and she will bring her out to the car when I pick her up. It makes it a lot easier with Kaden so I don’t have to get out of the car.

We, of course, had to take pictures of her on her first day of school. This is her being silly with her bag around her neck.

You can just see the excitement in her face!

Avery being cute!

When preschool was over Kaden and I went to pick Avery up. I was anxious to see how her first day went. She had a blast and came home singing lots of fun songs and with pictures she had colored. My favorite thing was her name tag. Her teacher wrote her name with a highlighter and then she helped Avery trace it with her pencil. I think for her first time writing her name she did a really good job!

I am so glad that we were able to get Avery into this preschool. She is learning so much and is having a great time. Thanks Grandma Call for helping us out!

Highland Fling

by on Sep.11, 2010

We went to the Highland Fling with my family this year. The day started with breakfast in the park then we sat down to wait for the parade. Here is Grandpa Christiansen, Avery, Sadie, Grandma Christiansen, and Nicole.

Avery had a blast collecting candy and other goodies that were thrown from people in the parade.

Daddy and Kaden enjoying the parade from the shade.

For Skyler’s birthday this year my mom bought he and Kaden shirts from ThinkGeek. They are Verson 1.0 and Version 2.0. Being able to wear this shirt with Kaden was a proud moment for Skyler. They look so handsome.

After the parade we wandered through the park to see what shops they had there and then went to Winger’s for lunch. We came home and put the kids down for naps and then went back to the park for fireworks when it got done. We had a fun day!

Kaden Eating Rice Cereal

by on Sep.09, 2010

Many of you have already seen the video of Kaden eating his rice cereal. Here are a few pictures of the first time that he tried it.

Getting ready to take his first bite

He was not too sure if he liked it at first.

Still not too sure what is going on.

Now he has decided that rice cereal is a good thing. He’s having a good time!

Cute little Avery wanted to help feed Kaden. He adores his big sister.

Kaden absolutely loves eating rice cereal. We have now move on to oatmeal and then to oatmeal with bananas. He loves to eat!

The Wiggles

by on Sep.07, 2010

Last month we took Avery to “The Wiggles” Concert at Maverik Center. Skyler’s family owns the Maverik gas stations and they were able to get us free tickets in one of their suites for the concert. We invited Aunt Rebecca, Sadie, and Jaden to come with us. Avery was so excited! Here she is waiting for Sadie to get there.

Kaden was super excited too!

Avery, Sadie, and Sadie’s cousin, Sidney watching the concert.

Avery thought that the girl in the yellow tutu was “Belle” from Beauty and the Beast.

Our view of the stage.

All of the kids sitting in the suite.

We had such a fun time.
