It’s a..
by Janelle Call on Nov.17, 2009
Today has been a very exciting day for us. We got up early and quickly got ourselves ready for the day. Skyler headed off to work, I took Avery to Grandma Call’s house and then went to work. I had a hard time concentrating while at work because today was the day we would find out if the baby growing inside of me is developing properly and we would find out if it is a boy or a girl. When the clock finally reached 12:00 PM I took my students to lunch and met Lacey outside, who brought Avery to me so we could have her at the ultrasound.
We waited patiently in the waiting room for the doctor to call us back. He was right on time so we only had to wait for a few minutes, that rarely happens! He took us into the room and quickly got started. It was so fun to be able to see our little baby moving around. The doctor confirmed that everything was in fact developing as it should and that the baby looks great.
This first picture is the baby’s profile. You can see the cute little nose, I love it!

In this picture you can see the face. It has cute little lips! You can also see the belly and one of the legs.

This is the baby’s legs and feet.

And finally…
IT’S A BOY!

He is so cute! (His name is Kaden)
Disney Princesses on Ice
by Janelle Call on Nov.14, 2009
A few weeks ago I purchased tickets for Avery and I to go see Disney Princesses on Ice at Energy Solutions Arena. After waking Avery up this morning I reminded her that today was the day we were going to see the princesses and she squealed out, “Ooh, I am so excited!” We quickly dressed in our warm clothes because it was snowing outside. After eating breakfast with daddy the two of us climbed into Grandma Christiansen’s Durango to ride to the UTA Trax station. Riding on Trax, Avery felt a little nervous. She held my hand so tight.

We arrived at Energy Solutions Arena early and walked in just as they were opening the front doors. Avery looked around and was mesmerized at the site of all the different booths, each with so many things to buy. I let her choose one toy and she chose a cute little stuffed Flounder. It did not cost very much so I let her get an Ariel doll to go with it.

We had so much fun watching the princesses skate around and sing. Avery loved it! We hope to go back again another year.
Halloween
by Janelle Call on Nov.06, 2009
Our cute little family. Avery decided a couple of months ago that she wanted to be Dorothy for Halloween. I asked her who I should be and she said, “Mommy, you have to be Glinda and daddy has to be the Tin Man!” Skyler was such a good sport to dress up with us.

Halloween was really busy this year! We started out at noon at my mom’s house for pizza. When we were done eating we went to a kiddie carnival at Highland Gardens. They had lots of fun activities for kids to do there. Avery made a cute ghost sucker. This is Avery standing outside. Note: Look at her cute costume, I am proud to say that I made it with the help of my wonderful mother!

After the carnival we headed back to my mom’s house so she and my sister could help me curl my hair. Avery sat on the couch with her Uncle Tyler and he read her stories and then she took a nap. Doesn’t she look so peaceful?!?

When Avery woke up from her nap we headed home to frost some cupcakes for our ward carnival and trunk-or-treat. Avery loved the cake walk and eating the cupcake when they called her number. They had lots of fun activities for the kids to do and following that everyone sat in the trunks of their cars and handed out candy. Avery enjoyed walking around and getting candy from all of the cars.

After the trunk-or-treat we headed over to Skyler’s mom’s house for pumpkin soup bowls and homemade root beer. Skyler’s brother, Blaze, dressed up as the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz to go along with our theme. He played the scarecrow in the children’s play of The Wizard of Oz at Hale Center Theater in Orem over the summer.
I love this picture because Avery adored seeing Blaze as the Scarecrow.

Blaze, Avery, and me.

When we were done eating we trick-or-treated to a couple of houses in Skyler’s mom’s neighborhood and a couple in my mom’s neighborhood. Following that we headed over to my Aunt Pam’s house. My Uncle Trever makes homemade donuts every year on Halloween and they are the best so we had to go have some. When we were done there we went to my Grandpa Hutchings house to visit. We didn’t get home until 11:00. It was super busy, but also super fun!
Carving Pumpkins
by Janelle Call on Nov.04, 2009
We went to Pumpkin Land again this year to pick our pumpkins. Avery has been so excited for weeks to carve pumpkins, She and daddy picked this very cute pumpkin for her to carve.

Avery helped daddy pick a cute little pumpkin for our little baby coming in April. Avery loved sitting in the wagon holding the pumpkins.

Avery and daddy drawing the face on Avery’s pumpkin before carving it.

This is Skyler’s pumpkin. He had fun making it look like a bowling ball, he is so creative!

This is my pumpkin. It didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to, but that’s okay. Carving pumpkins is not something I enjoy doing, I just like to do it for the pumpkin seeds!

This is Avery’s pumpkin. She was looking at some pumpkin lights and she and daddy decided to carve her pumpkin to look like the lights.

This is our baby’s pumpkin. Skyler had lots of fun with this one!

Gardner Village
by Janelle Call on Nov.02, 2009
During Fall Break Grandma Call invited Avery and I to go to Gardner Village with them to see the witches. Avery is normally afraid of witches, but she really enjoyed looking at all of them there.
This is Avery, Aunt Lacey, and Uncle Blaze.

Avery being cute!

Avery loves pumpkins, as you can see!

This was Avery’s favorite witch. She loved watching her play the piano.

Thanks grandma for inviting us to go with you, we had a lot of fun.
